Frightmare Forest Productions<\/a>, thought I knew what it meant to be scared witless.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I was dead wrong.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I had parked the car\u00c2\u00a0in the drive way close to the garage with the front of the car facing the garage.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\nHe started the car and put it in drive.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Bringing the car\u00c2\u00a0within milimeters of taking out the garage door.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Then when he placed the car in reverse, he pushed too hard on the gas causing the car to jump backwards at a high rate of speed.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
I of course freaked out… So he slammed on the brakes.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
My heart now pounding and the addrenalyn\u00c2\u00a0rushing, I struggled to give him praise.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0You know, trying to be the good Dad and giving him some words of encouragement.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
As he started down the street, I realized he was driving with one\u00c2\u00a0foot on the gas, and\u00c2\u00a0one on the break.\u00c2\u00a0 Rookie mistake.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Giving him more encouragement and words I thought would help him relax, he made it down the road with no problems.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Then a car\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0turned down the street\u00c2\u00a0in front of us driving towards us in the left lane.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I saw the knuckles on his fingers whiten as he tensed up and squeezed the steering wheel.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 His second reaction was to take us into the curb.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Again I freaked out.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Struggling to remain calm, \u00c2\u00a0I gritted my teeth and reminded him with a growl to get away from the curb.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
Then came the first Stop sign.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I asked him if he saw the sign.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 He replied he did.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 He didn’t slow his pace yet.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Growing more nervous I explained how to slow the car, without slamming the breaks.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 He glanced at me in confusion.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Then I saw his left foot going for the break…\u00c2\u00a0 I reminded him to use only the one foot when driving.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 With seconds to spare, we stopped.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 With only a little tire squeak.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
The rest of the trip went by with little error.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 That was until we pulled into our destination.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 With the car still running and in gear, he began to exit the car.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 As we started pulling toward the car parked directly in front of us I had to scream at him to stop the car.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Again barely missing a collision.<\/p>\n
As he exited the car I gave him praise for getting us there safe\u00c2\u00a0and made a little promise to myself.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Next time he drives, he takes his mom.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
