{"id":808,"date":"2008-12-09T13:54:44","date_gmt":"2008-12-09T18:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thecanmanshow.com\/?p=808"},"modified":"2008-12-09T13:54:44","modified_gmt":"2008-12-09T18:54:44","slug":"stuff-on-my-mind-today-120908","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecanmanshow.com\/?p=808","title":{"rendered":"Stuff on my mind today 12\/09\/08"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignright\" title=\"Batman The Dark Knight Movie Poster\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/8\/8a\/Dark_Knight.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I love winter, there are few thing more beautiful than fresh fallen snow.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I do however really hate driving in it.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I commute to North Liberty from Cedar Rapids for work(about 15 miles).\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 This morning was pretty frightening.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 We had about a quarter inch of ice on the driveway and the streets at 6:00 this morning.\u00c2\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t a &#8220;dry&#8221; kind of ice, it had a nice coat of water on it, to make it extra slick.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, It&#8217;s not the icy winter driving conditions, it&#8217;s all the other drivers out there that scare the heck out of me.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Luckily there weren&#8217;t many other people out there this morning, and the ones that were out there were driving to the conditions of the road.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I hope everyone who was crazy enough to venture out in the mess this morning made it safe to their destination.<\/p>\n<p>Batman The Dark Knight comes out on DVD and Blue-ray today.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 For the parents of small children out there, this is not a kiddy movie.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 My kids have seen some pretty frightening movies, (Zoe&#8217;s favorite movie was Shaun of The Dead) but Heath Ledger&#8217;s performance as the Joker is disturbing.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The movie is dark, and scary.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I will probably not let the girls watch it.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0That being said, I\u00c2\u00a0feel\u00c2\u00a0the retelling of the Batman story that started with Batman Begins and continues in The Dark Knight, is the best set of Batman Movies made to date.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 If you are a fan of Batman comics, especially the more modern darker stories, you will love these movies.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Check them out!
