This is a note I got from my friend Lori, She wanted me to pass this along. P.S. Her husban Ryan will be sitting in for Timmy tomorrow night on the show.  Timmy has military duty- Canman
Hey Chad,
Last night as I was leaving work in downtown Cedar Rapids, a small kitten crawled out of the abandoned building next door (formally Pita’z) on 2nd St SE. The kitten was very skittish, but it was apparent that it wanted attention and was very, very hungry. It walked in my path and rolled on the ground as if saying “pet me, feed me!”. I couldn’t just leave it there to die. As I walked away, I turned around and the kitten was watching me walk away.
I told Ryan and we grabbed a cat carrier and headed downtown. I was surprised to find the kitten in the same place where I left it. After a little coaxing, Ryan was able to pick it up. To say it was bony and skinny is an understatement. It is obvious that it had not eaten in days, or if it had, it was garbage or food provided by workers downtown. Surprisingly enough, the kitten is in great shape otherwise.
Â
We took the kitten home, put him in the garage last night. We began feeding him and gave him a warm place to sleep. Ryan is going to be taking him (we think it’s a him) to the vet on Saturday to get a check-up and see what we can do to help the little guy out.
As we already have 2 cats at our house, we are looking for someone to give this adorable kitten a home. The kitten is orange with white stripes and is very friendly towards humans. We estimate he is about 3Â – 4 months old.
Â
If you know of anyone who would be willing to have this wonderful kitten as a pet (or member of their family), please let me know.
