Washapalooza is this weekend!  Washapalooza is a music festival showcasing several bands from throughout the corridor (including one of my fav’s Junk Funk!).  All the money from ticket sales will be donated to Theatre Cedar Rapids for flood Recovery.  Anyone and everyone in the community is welcome to come out and enjoy the show.  The show is on Saturday October 4th, 2008 2-7pm in the Washington High School Courtyard.  Tickets will be 5$ at the door and once you leave you can’t return.    For more info contact Washapalooza’s organizer Abby by e-mailing her at arings9@aol.com.

I love music, I really love Soul, R&B and Blues.   I found one of the most amazing collections of Soul, R&B and Blues singles ever,  The Complete Stax-Volt Singles 1959-1968.   This collection has so many of my favorite artists that I couldn’t begin to list them all.    But to name a few, Otis Redding, Booker T and the MGs,  Sam & Dave and the Bar-Kays are in there.  If you’re looking for the golden age of Soul, R&B and Blues, this collection captures it.

I was checking out Rebel Scum today.  This has got to be one of the most impressive Star Wars sites ever.    Be sure to check them out.
