A federal judge is forcing the makers of the Bratz dolls (MGA) to stop producing them.  The Judge is  from also forcing them to recall the dolls from store shelves.  The recall won’t happen until after the holiday season. The ruling supposedly isn’t a competition issue. It’s due to the guy who designed the Bratz dolls did it while working for Mattel toys.  He apparently signed a non compete agreement when he was employed by them.   He broke the terms by taking his design for the Bratz dolls to MGA.  I personally don’t think the non compete agreement would have been an issue, but the sales of Barbie have declined 15% since the Bratz line was introduced. Â
If I was a speculating man when it comes to toys… This is a line I would expect to jump in value.  Especially if MGA looses their appeal.
I had a blast at UNI yesterday. What a fun game.  We car pool to the games and last night I got to ride back to Cedar Rapids with Jared Aahrons the Sports Director from KGAN/KFXA.  Not only is he a “Sports Junkie” he’s also an action figure collector and a huge movie fan.  He’s an even bigger fan of the FOX show 24.  If we can work out some scheduling issues, he might even geek out with us on a future episode of The Canman Show!
That’s all I got for now- Canman
