I love winter, there are few thing more beautiful than fresh fallen snow.   I do however really hate driving in it.      I commute to North Liberty from Cedar Rapids for work(about 15 miles).   This morning was pretty frightening.   We had about a quarter inch of ice on the driveway and the streets at 6:00 this morning.  It wasn’t a “dry” kind of ice, it had a nice coat of water on it, to make it extra slick.  

Now, It’s not the icy winter driving conditions, it’s all the other drivers out there that scare the heck out of me.   Luckily there weren’t many other people out there this morning, and the ones that were out there were driving to the conditions of the road.    I hope everyone who was crazy enough to venture out in the mess this morning made it safe to their destination.

Batman The Dark Knight comes out on DVD and Blue-ray today.   For the parents of small children out there, this is not a kiddy movie.   My kids have seen some pretty frightening movies, (Zoe’s favorite movie was Shaun of The Dead) but Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker is disturbing.   The movie is dark, and scary.   I will probably not let the girls watch it.  

 That being said, I feel the retelling of the Batman story that started with Batman Begins and continues in The Dark Knight, is the best set of Batman Movies made to date.   If you are a fan of Batman comics, especially the more modern darker stories, you will love these movies.   Check them out! – Canman
